Rent and private school fee caps are classic price controls that create shortages, lower quality and drive landlords and schools out of the market.
They ignore rising costs and punish supply.
The real solutions are more housing, better public schools and tackling inflation, not artificial ceilings that make the problem worse.

BREAKING NEWS: Some people retire from banks. Some retire from the civil service. My dad just retired from his lifelong assignment of forcing his six stubborn children to understand Mathematics.

The retirement became effective immediately after the baby of the house dropped his WAEC result this evening. He aced every subject. Not a single ‘C’, ‘D’ or ‘E’ in sight. The family group chat immediately transformed into an award ceremony.

My dad is finally free. The baby of the house is the last bus stop, meaning his lifelong contract of making sure his children conquered Mathematics and all its stubborn relatives has officially come to an end.

Growing up, our house was basically an extension of our school. Mum handled Literature and Government, while Dad took charge of Mathematics and its calculation-heavy relatives. During SSCE season, Mummy taught us by day, and Daddy woke us up at night to wrestle with equations.

The real brains behind our brains have always been Daddy and Mummy. G.O.A.T.s forever. ❤️🙌🔥
