PepsiCo/Frito-Lay makes a reduced-fat Spicy Sweet Chili version for K-12 kids, tailored to meet USDA child nutrition guidelines.

It qualifies because "whole corn" is the 1st ingredient.

There are 23 ingredients, including:
- Whole corn
- Corn
- Vegetable oil (corn, canola and/or sunflower)
- Sugar
- Salt
- Monosodium glutamate (MSG)
- Fructose
- Maltodextrin (from corn)
- Sodium diacetate
- Soy sauce (soybean, wheat, salt)
- Onion powder
- Hydrolyzed soy protein
- Hydrolyzed corn protein
- Garlic powder
- Torula yeast
- Malic acid
- Extractives of paprika
- Spices
- Caramel color
- Alpha-tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E)
- Disodium inosinate
- Disodium guanylate
- Natural flavor

4 of these ingredietns are banned at Whole Foods - monosodium glutamate, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, and sodium diacetate.

These "smart snack" standards are only approved if they meet specific ingredient criteria. e.g.
- the 1st ingredient is a whole grain
- if the first ingredient is fruit, vegetable, or a dairy product
- a combo containing at least 1/4 cup of fruit and/or vegetable

It's a tragedy that these are the standards Big Food companies are gaming to sell more trash to kids
