@coinbureau Agree. If a long term investor beliefs that a crypto business is a good investment they should buy their equity not their token. BTC is a commodity so you can’t get equity in the issuer.
@brian_armstrong Cool. Congrats. Your customer support is almost as burocratic as the federal government. You are still number two on this but you’re catching up to the leader.
@coinfessions Dont cash out. Use your BTC as collateral to get a loan. Alternatively move to a country & become a tax resident (maybe just for a year) that does not levy capital gains tax.
Assuming you bought early and never executed any transaction that would be taxable in your jurisdiction.
@azerX@SimonDixonTwitt You can post your BTC as collateral on a service such as NEXO. They give you a credit card that is universally accepted. You borrow against your BTC (no sale, no capital gains tax).
You take counterparty risk, but you do the same when sending your BTC anywhere to convert to fiat
@JohnnyZcash@coinbase Coinbase support is genuinely unhelpful. Considering they charge some of the highest fees in the industry you would expect better. I stick to using Kraken & Nexo when I need a CEX now.
@iampaulgrewal@SECGov@coinbase I agree transparency is very important. Interesting you expect this from the SEC but your customers can’t expect it from your support staff. Food for thought…
@brian_armstrong@CoinbaseDev I think it is risky to build on tech that is maintained by a company that has some of the least effective customer support I have encountered on my life.
@brian_armstrong Some advice: You should build a better kyc system. It currently excludes expatriates and your support team can’t handle the requests manually. You are losing customers because of that 😉
@BitcoinMagazine If the quality of their customer service is an indicator for the quality of the rest of their operations I would worry about my money if I would hold btc etfs….
@CelsiusUcc@SimonDixonTwitt what can we do to prevent being sent a check against our will? We voted for crypto back. Now we are being threatened with a check if we do not consent to a usd wire.
