THE LAW DOESN'T REQUIRE AN NGO TO KEEP MONEY IN THE BANK IT REQUIRES ACCOUNTABILITY.
Many people are shocked that VDM's NGO reportedly has only about ₦7.6 million left after receiving over ₦690 million in donations.
But from a legal standpoint, a low bank balance is not evidence of fraud or misappropriation.
The real legal questions are:
1...Was the money spent for the objectives of the NGO?
2... Are there proper receipts, contracts, invoices, and financial records for the expenditure?
3... Can the trustees account for every naira if regulators or a court demand an explanation?
Under Nigerian law, trustees and officers of an incorporated NGO have a fiduciary duty to use the organisation's funds for its stated charitable purposes.
If the money was genuinely spent on schools, boreholes, and other approved projects, and the records support those expenditures, then having a low account balance is not, by itself, a legal problem.
On the other hand, if donations were diverted for personal use, or if there are no credible records to justify the spending, that could expose those responsible to civil or even criminal liability.
Legally, transparency is more than posting a bank balance online. It means being able to produce the documents that prove where the money went whenever the appropriate authorities ask.
So, whether you support VDM or not, the debate should move beyond emotions.
The law is interested in accountability—not assumptions.
As lawyers often say: It is not the amount left in the account that matters; it is whether every naira can be properly accounted for.
Do you agree?

After Brazil's disappointing Round of 16 exit, Vinícius stepped up and addressed the question everyone was asking after the missed penalty: why did Bruno Guimarães take it when the match was hanging by a thread?
The Brazilian star quickly put the controversy to rest, making it clear that it was entirely Carlo Ancelotti's decision. He backed his teammate and accepted that missing penalties is simply part of football.
But his strongest words came when responding to those who accused him of hiding from the responsibility: "I've never been vain. I've never wanted to be the World Cup's top scorer... I've never run away from responsibility."
This is the current condition of Wole Soyinka High School, Ejigbo, one of the mega schools built by the past administration. What was once a symbol of progress is now a crumbling ruin under Governor Adeleke's watch. Walls are collapsing, roofs are leaking, and our children are learning in a death trap. While Adeleke dances and shields criminals, Osun's future decays. Our children deserve better. On 15/08/26, vote AMBO for a government that will rebuild our schools and restore our dignity.

PVAC convenes stakeholders to strengthen Nigeria's health supply chain ecosystem
29 June 2026 — Abuja, Nigeria — PVAC Hosts a Supply Chain Stakeholders Engagement Workshop
The Presidential Initiative for Unlocking the Healthcare Value Chain (@PVAC_NG) hosted a Supply Chain Stakeholders Engagement Workshop bringing together more than 50 participants from Federal Government and Regulatory Agencies, Procurement and Supply Chain actors, Private Sector Associations, and Development Partners.
The workshop was convened to develop a roadmap and implementation framework for an Integrated Health Commodity Market Intelligence and Supply Chain Coordination System for Nigeria, internally referred to as Project VISTA (Visibility, Intelligence, Supply Chain Tracking and Analytics).
📊 Discussions focused on identifying existing health commodity data, uncovering critical information gaps, and exploring opportunities to connect data systems and strengthen institutional partnerships for the next phase of this work.
PVAC is laying the foundation for a more coordinated, data-driven, and resilient health supply chain for Nigeria.
