i actually agree with this. we sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves to have every part of life working perfectly at the same time. maybe balance makes more sense when measured over years, not days.

there will be seasons when work takes almost everything, seasons when family needs more of you, seasons when you travel, learn, build, rest, or simply slow down. you probably just need to make sure that whatever is not the priority at the moment is not completely abandoned.

There is a general advice given to anyone just starting, eg

First have an emergency fund saved in a Money Market Fund or High-Yield Savings Account

Then attempts low risk investments like the MMF, Treasury Bills, Saving Bonds, CBs, etc.

Then go for ETFs, Mutual Funds (balanced before Equities), Dividend-Paying Stocks and Precious Minerals (stick to Gold and Silver for a start)

After which you can now try Individual Stocks, Cryptocurrencies, Private Equities, Alternative Investments.

Also never forget to invest in your skills, health and relationships.

Many people do not know that FIFA pay clubs for each player they have at the World Cup.

It’s about $5k - $11k per day. So let’s say a player spends 10 days at the World Cup, the player’s club gets between $50k - $110k just for that player.

Cucurella spent more than 30 days, Chelsea would be getting between $200k and $400k just for Cucurella alone. It is “per player, per day”, that’s how it’s calculated. I also think they count from the date of release, which is like early June or Late May.

Also, the eligibility of a club is based on the player registration as at when the player was released. Chelsea were the ones who released Cucurella, so Chelsea are getting the money.

If I didn’t have a mind of my own, I’d probably be in a very big mess today, Thank God for a strong mind.

There was a time my family literally called a meeting because of me.

I listened respectfully, but I had done my own research and I knew they were wrong.

So I trusted the information in front of me instead of the opinions around me.

Not long after, IRCC changed the very policy they had been advising me against.

The same people who were convinced I was making a mistake are now thanking God I didn’t listen to them.

In the end, no one will care about the outcome of your life more than you. Be respectful, but don’t outsource your thinking.

Arm yourself with information, Study, Ask questions and Verify everything.

Even people who genuinely love you can give advice that is outdated, incomplete, or simply wrong.

Good intentions are not a substitute for good information. That lesson has stayed with me ever since.

I recommend watching the movie “Eternity”

It is a romantic drama sprinkled with comedy. It is not a religious movie. The title makes it look like a religious movie. It’s not.

It has some sort of accuracies in what I think eternity will look like.

It tells of an afterlife where you can choose your own eternity. You die, your soul goes to a waiting room (you can spend even up to 100 years in that waiting room) before transiting to eternity.

Your soul will take up your form of the age you are most happy. For example, if you were most happy at 25 years old, even if you died at 90 years, your soul takes up the form of your 25 years old.

Our senses are sharpened in eternity. We do all we do here there, you can wait for loved ones on earth to join you before transiting to eternity.

It goes on and on.

It will speak to you and answer some questions.

I don’t think personal development is spoken of enough. Especially if you’re in your 20s, you should invest aggressively in yourself. This isn’t an argument against investing early, it’s for smarter capital allocation.

If spending on a cert or degree, moving to a better place for your productivity, buying a better laptop, outsourcing chores (buying back your time!) or attending the right event can increase your earning potential, that may be a better investment than putting it in any fund or stock.

You need to be able to weigh and use your money to build the life that earns you more money. Do I invest, yes, but I also allocate aggressively on my development
