I feel fine about it. The presupposition is that all cartoonists lean left, but I'm probably further right than Andy.

If that means other cartoonists have to pretend I don't exist, if their little art club is so fragile and will shatter by accepting someone like me, that's their problem.

Meanwhile I'm fine sharing a profession with people I disagree with. I read their books. I listen to their podcasts. I know where I stand in the Rankings.

This myth that "artists lean left" is a modern fantasy: A blatant lie like "men can get pregnant." As usual, the opposite is true. Almost all art throughout history was conservative in nature, certainly by today's standards.

The simple truth is that during the post-WW2 age, the Right abandoned the arts and the Leftist Commies filled the vacuum. Conservatives are now boxed out of the club. That's all.

But I know who I am, and I train every day to be the best artist I possibly can. I can achieve this with or without the fellowship of my peers.

I would talk to them, but they won't talk to me. The loss is theirs.
