Banks are using depositors’ money to generate profits from their investments (giving out loans, treasury bonds, mortgages, etc.) Only a few share the profits. However, when banks fail or go bankrupt, all depositors share the loss.

I also don’t understand why we have both monthly maintenance fees and transaction fees.

At least Cit Bank and Apple Savings Account start teaching how banks should operate.

Customers want to share the profits and avoid maintenance and transaction fees. Is it possible? Yes, banks generate tons of profit from depositors’ money!
