Happy Whipple day🎉! 86 years ago the 1st 1-staged pancreatoduodenectomy was performed by Dr. Allan O Whipple, and today this is a safe operation that can also be done robotically. How would Dr. Whipple have reacted seeing a robot-assisted procedure 😮? And what’s in the future?

Trying and failing not to hover while waiting for an OR as my 7am start got bumped by overnight heart transplant, bilateral robotic lung transplant (#18 here, #28 worldwide) & a type A , so here’s an emergency myxoma from a while back. Resident did all, resection complete on path, patient doing great. Happy NYE to all!!!
