In 2010, U.S. Marine Lance Corporal William "Kyle" Carpenter threw himself on a grenade in Afghanistan to save his fellow Marine, Nicholas Eufrazio. The blast left him severely wounded, but his selfless act saved his friend's life.
After over 40 surgeries and a long recovery, Carpenter was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2014. He later graduated college and now inspires others by sharing his story of courage and resilience. 🇺🇸🫡

For this Memorial Day I am choosing to honor my good friend, Staff Sergeant (SSG) Jason Reeves. He was a Patriot and a hero to this great nation.

SSG Reeves lost his life on December 5th, 2010 at Gardez District, Paktia province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.
