INDEPENDENT NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION
PRESS STATEMENT
UPDATE ON THE DISPLAY AND PUBLICATION OF THE PRELIMINARY REGISTER OF VOTERS FOR THE 2027 GENERAL ELECTION
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) wishes to provide an update on the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
2. In accordance with Section 19 of the Electoral Act, 2026, the Commission conducted the physical display of the Register at Registration Areas nationwide from 9th to 15th October, 2026, providing registered voters the opportunity to inspect their particulars and submit claims and objections as prescribed by law.
3. The Commission has taken note of the concerns expressed by Nigerians and other stakeholders regarding the desirability of making the Register accessible through its online platform in addition to the physical display already conducted.
4. Accordingly, and in furtherance of its commitment to transparency, accessibility and public confidence in the electoral process, the Commission has decided to make available on its online platform https://t.co/cpjnvdozeV the same Preliminary Register of Voters earlier displayed at the Registration Areas.
5. This additional measure complements the physical display already undertaken and is intended to facilitate wider public access to the Register. Meanwhile, the Commission continues to process claims and objections arising from the exercise in accordance with the Electoral Act, 2026, preparatory to the certification and publication of the Final Register of Voters on 15th December 2026.
6. The Commission appreciates the continued interest and constructive engagement of Nigerians and stakeholders and reiterates its commitment to transparency, accountability and the faithful implementation of the Electoral Act, 2026 in delivering credible elections.

CAS, DHML MD EXPLORE STRONGER PARTNERSHIP FOR ENHANCED MILITARY HEALTHCARE
Ensuring quality and responsive healthcare for personnel of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN), their families and retirees featured prominently on 29 September 2026, as the newly appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Defence Health Maintenance Limited (DHML), Surgeon Rear Admiral L. M. Adams (Rtd), paid a familiarisation visit to the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, at Headquarters NAF, Abuja. The engagement provided an opportunity to strengthen the existing partnership between DHML and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and explore practical measures to enhance healthcare delivery.
With DHML providing healthcare services through a network of over 24 facilities nationwide, discussions focused on improving the quality, accessibility and responsiveness of medical services for serving and retired Armed Forces personnel and their families. The CAS also called for sustained attention to the availability of quality drugs and other essential healthcare services, while assuring DHML of NAF’s support for initiatives that would further strengthen its capacity to deliver on its mandate.
The CAS reaffirmed that strong collaboration within the Defence health sector is essential to personnel welfare and operational effectiveness. He stressed the importance of ensuring that those who serve the nation, alongside their families and retirees, have access to dependable healthcare, while reiterating NAF’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve healthcare outcomes across the Defence community.

BREAKING: Earlier today, His Excellency, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, was at the National Judicial Council (NJC) in connection with his petition against some of the judges handling cases involving him.
The petition raises allegations of judicial bias, denial of fair hearing and other concerns about the conduct of judicial proceedings.
It is important to remember that Mallam Nasir El-Rufai was granted bail by two Federal High Courts, albeit under stringent conditions, while the Kaduna State High Court outrightly denied him bail in the separate ICPC case, despite the allegations before the court being bailable offences.
