@GerryHassan £700k builds you a fairly “modest” home these days. You can buy a £700k house in Scotland and it won’t be modest. 2 fundamentally different things. New single house builds are very expensive due to materials, regs, labour etc. Kevin is right unfortunately.

@evomagazine I bought a Golf R estate in a futile attempt to have “best of both worlds”. It wasn’t a sports car and an average estate. I now have a Volvo V60, which is dull but enormously efficient at everything. The rest of the time I drive an A110. Bingo. That is “best of both worlds”.
