@minchoi The Blender part is the interesting bit: an agent driving a real tool beats generating a mesh from scratch, because you can still edit the result. How well does it handle changes on the 2nd or 3rd prompt?
@jasonlk The Sierra vs ServiceNow split makes sense if buyers now pay for work done, not seats. Do you think per-outcome pricing becomes the default for agent products, or stays niche outside support?
@alanxx3yy5w Build-in-public posts attract builders, so the post has to name a problem your buyer has, not your progress. Progress posts get likes; problem posts get DMs. Still testing this myself.
@goyalshaliniuk Agree. In my agent setup, what made it reliable was boring: hard spending limits, an hourly kill-switch, and logging every action to a file. The model was rarely the weak point; the harness was.
@bindureddy New models help, but most of the gloom I see is agents failing in boring ways: auth breaking, a PC going offline, a task silently stalling. Better plumbing would fix more than a smarter model.
@emollick That's why the risk check in my own agent setup is hard numeric rules, not another agent's opinion. Agents on the same model agree with each other far too easily.
@swyx@karpathy Running a small team of agents, I ended up splitting by task: high effort for anything touching risk or money, medium for routine scans and drafts. Has anyone measured where the quality gap actually shows up?
Building in public: this week I learned that a good automation needs a clear "stop" rule, not just a "go" rule.
What should the system do when data is missing, a service is down, or something looks off?
The answer should be: pause and report, not guess.
@faze_aze Ops, every time. Research fails loudly, you see the bad answer. Ops fails quietly: an API changes, a post never goes out, nobody notices for days. So ops gets monitoring and a daily check first. Curious, are you automating any of your content work yet?
I'm building a team of AI agents that runs research, content and ops for a one-person business, in public.
What you'll get by following:
• real numbers, wins and failures
• automations small businesses can copy
• zero hype, zero 'make $10k overnight'
