The ultimate troll job would be for Notre Dame to join the MAC, go 13-0, give up 9 points all season, and get an automatic bid to the CFP.
Notre Dame at Akron on a Wednesday night is just going to be some next level stuff.
@ChrisDokish And if you don’t believe that, look no further than what Acrisure stadium looked like when ND was there versus when Miami was there.
Too bad the result was the same for both — except in the first one was Pitt scoring garbage time touchdowns to save face.
@ChrisDokish You must be new here. The ACC got ND to agree to play 5 games per season against ACC opponents so the ACC could be more relevant. That came at a price for ND (like making the Michigan rivalry more difficult).
It repays ND by the stunt they pulled the last couple of weeks.
Lost in this ND - Miami drama is the fact that if the ND coaching staff didn’t baby CJ Carr by making him throw 75 screen passes against Miami l, we wouldn’t be here.
Or, the refs could have just called holing on A&M. That would have been good, too.
@UteOutsider @benji9282025 I hate to break it to you, but any team that loses twice isn’t going to play in their conference championship game. I bet you’d argue that Texas and Vandy should be considered before ND?
Neither will play in their CCG.
And then there’s OSU last season. 10-2, no CCG, champs.
