Belgium, through @BelgiumRwanda & its ambassador @bertversmessen & consul @haroldvdmn must be reminded that there is no space in Rwanda for their disrespectful archaic mindset that provides them the audacity to act as beholders of colonial authority. How presumptuous & insolent!
Gross mistreatment of Rwandan national by the Belgian embassy.
1/ We are writing to express our deep distress and frustration regarding the mistreatment of my brother upon his arrival in Brussels, Belgium.
I hope competent Rwandan authorities investigate & take necessary measures towards @BelgiumRwanda , which unilaterally and arbitrary cancels Visas without notifying the Visa holder all while having their contact information as required in the Visa Application process.
@kev_rukundo@noellashyaka Something about us is that we will merely breathe and enjoy our lives and it will bring people to shake in anger and frustration. Polé sana, en français wana sema « Saute et cale en l’air! »
@noellashyaka I’m so sorry for you dear that countless years & legacies of colonial thought have brainwashed your brain. But worry less, your ignorance & bigotry can be cured, but you will need to make efforts to read a book or two, if you are capable of such endeavour. Are you willing to?
A nation WILL always be a nation. No matter how “radical” it can present itself. People will always simply be a means to play the game of politics. Work to align yourself with PEOPLE. Always. People and Struggle are not the same as a state! a nation is always already anti-people
Personal & collective pain we hold must spark to act guided by prevention, solidarity & justice within & outside of our borders. I call upon Rwandans, & the nations & communities of the Global Majority to unprecedentedly unite to liberate Palestinians, from the River to the Sea.
Today, April 7th, my heart aches like so many Rwandans as we gather to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide the Tutsi that tragically robbed us of 1 million souls in 100 days. I was less than two years old, living with my parents in exile in Tanzania. #Kwibuka30
I've been brought up to develop critical awareness & reflection & will continue to do so. As Rwandans, perhaps more than any other nation in the world, we ought to question ourselves with the heavy legacy that we hold of having suffered from the last genocide of the 20th century.
