It's winter and I wanted to blend some snow!☃️
Turning the Dark Ruins sample project into a snowy landscape took much less time than expected!

After years of research & experiments, OctaneRender 2027 is achieving real-time path tracing while remaining its quality and spectral nature. I am extremely proud of my team all across the globe for this achievement!🔥 #Octane
RGB rendering is founded on lies and perpetuated by misconceptions about the practicality of spectral rendering. My new blog post series describes a spectral GPU path tracer. Part 1 focuses on how to make it work with existing RGB assets.

We believe it should be really easy to add weather effects in Unreal Engine 5.
And that's why we have included a rain and snow tool, and the ability to add rain, snow and water puddles to your materials.
All inside our UE5 plugin Dash.
Blender 5.0: Cycles now supports thin-film iridescence for metals ⚡️
Enabling effects like oxidation, oil-slick reflections, and subtle rainbow hues. 🌈
A feature every artist will want to play with. No doubt about it! ✨

Congrats to every participant ! Breakdown coming soon, see you on the winners stream 🏆
The 3 Coolest Things I saw at #Siggraph this year:
1. Nvidia's DLSS Denoiser in Blender
This makes Cycles basically real-time. Meaning 3d artists can create with almost zero latency. Not yet available to the public, but it's expected to make it into a future Blender release.
FULLY SIMULATED anamorphic lens flare using octane's photon tracer and my own gottschalk anamorphic lens. Lens coatings are simulated as well so they produce "super saturated" colors. (that being colors outside of the srgb color domain, so the ARRI drt has to compress them)
Here's some kind words for @RealCFraser, (yes, Chris again!) but this time with a picture.
A little render I did with a WIP model I've been working on. "Wear and Tear" look created by Chris and tweaked by myself for this model.
