talked to a prop firm founder after 6 drinks
he told me exactly how to beat their system
then asked me not to share it
fuck that. here's everything:
background: this guy runs a prop firm doing $2M/month in challenge sales
we were at a conference. open bar. he got chatty.
I asked: "what percentage of traders actually make money from prop firms?"
"define make money"
"withdraw more than they spent on challenges"
long pause
"maybe 4%. probably less."
"96% of traders lose money to prop firms?"
"they're not losing money TO us. they're losing money to themselves. we just facilitate it."
then he explained how the business actually works:
THE MATH:
- average challenge: $300
- pass rate phase 1: 12%
- pass rate phase 2: 54% (of those who passed phase 1)
- total pass rate: 6.5%
- of those who pass, 60% blow the funded account in first 30 days
- actual long-term funded rate: 2.6%
"so for every 100 challenges sold..."
"we fund about 3 people long term. the other 97 either fail or keep buying new challenges."
THE PROFIT MODEL:
"our profit isn't from the 3 who stay. we actually lose money on successful traders."
"the profit is from the 97 who keep trying."
"average failed trader buys 4.7 challenges before quitting. that's $1,400 per person. multiply by 97 people. we make $135k per 100 challenges. the 3 successful traders might cost us $50k in payouts. net: $85k per 100 customers."
I asked what separates the 3% who make it:
"same thing every time. they trade BORING."
"boring?"
"no revenge trading. no overtrading. no trying to hit daily targets. they take their setup, hit their daily limit, close the platform. boring as fuck."
"we actually track this internally. traders who log in more than 4 hours per day have 73% failure rate. traders who log in less than 2 hours have 31% failure rate."
"you're telling me LESS screen time = MORE success?"
"way more. the traders who treat it like a job and sit there all day blow up. the ones who treat it like a task and leave make money."
THE EXPLOITATION:
"here's what I probably shouldn't tell you"
"our rules are designed around human psychology, not profitability"
"the daily drawdown limit? exists because we know traders will revenge trade after losses and hit it."
"the consistency rule? exists because we know traders will have one good day and then blow it trying to repeat it."
"the scaling targets? exist because we know traders get excited about bigger size and make mistakes."
"every rule exploits a psychological weakness we KNOW traders have."
"the ones who beat us are the ones who don't have those weaknesses"
HOW TO BEAT THEM:
I asked for specific advice. here's what he said:
1. "trade the first 2 hours only. our data shows this is when edge is highest and mistakes are lowest."
2. "hit 50% of your daily target and stop. we see traders who bank small consistent wins pass at 3x the rate of traders trying to hit full targets."
3. "take your first loss and STOP for the day. doesn't matter if it's 9:15am. the second trade after a loss has 67% failure rate."
4. "treat the funded account like you're trading someone's retirement fund. because psychologically, careful traders win. aggressive traders lose."
5. "if you feel EXCITED about a trade, don't take it. excitement = poor judgment. boredom = correct judgment."
"you're basically saying trade like a robot"
"I'm saying trade like you don't NEED to trade. the ones who need action give us their money. the ones who need results take our money."
he finished his drink
"we're not evil. we provide capital to people who can use it. it's just that 97% of people who think they can use it, can't."
"the 3% make life-changing money. they just have to survive the selection process."
he paid his tab and left
probably went home to count challenge fees

The secret to a good life through trading:
1. Learn while you still have income. Build the skill alongside your job until it's consistently profitable.
2. Scale to serious capital. Work up to an account size where 3% a month changes your life. At $500k that's $15k. At $1M that's $30k.
3. Keep overhead low. The traders who build real wealth aren't the ones spending it fastest. Protect what you make.
4. Reinvest everything. Trading income funds the account. The account funds the life. Let it compound.
This is how you win.
@Patrickwieland I know the cash ain't valid but I challenge you for challenging my idol. You know not what ICT has done to the trading community. Stop blabbing
Directional bias Information without confirmation is only noisy information. Confirmation transforms information into execution. Learn to wait. Happy trading.
The moment you accept this fact. Just need to search for knowledge to know what is truly working. Some people don't know what to do, some people know what to do but won't do it. Transformation starts when you know what to do and discipline enough to just do it. Gbam
@GoatFunded I just bought an account but not released been over 1hour. Live chat just keep on closing our conversation once I type talk to a person. Who can help please
6 LAWS OF KARMA:
1. The Law of Growth
You can’t control others. Real change begins when you work on yourself.
2. The Law of Connection
Your past, present, and future are linked. What you do today decides your tomorrow.
3. The Law of Action
Life doesn’t change by waiting. You must take action to create the life you want.
4. The Law of Responsibility
Your life is your responsibility. You are the result of the decisions you make.
5. The Law of Humility
Accept where you are today. Your present situation is shaped by past choices.
6. The Law of Cause & Effect
What you think, say, and do sends energy out; and it always comes back, good or bad.
The secrets to effective & consistent profitability:
1) Adhere to a simple model.
2) Know what you want to make and it feeds you, leave something on just in case you were wrong about how much more.
3) Don't ask others for opinions, analysis or tips.
4) Manage Risk impeccably - ALWAYS.
5) Don't chase new things after you found your model.
6) Allow others to hold opinions - even if they are diametrically opposed to yours.
7) Unless you run a signal service, keep your opinions to yourself.
8) Make your bread, eat and go live for the day and find ways to bless others with it.
Anything else is BS.
