Follow @theVaSSLC for the inherent value of its tweets and by looking at who follows VSSLC you can increase your PLN. For example, I found Craig Perrier and many more social studies teachers to follow. Also, by following VSSLC others can connect with me #edvapln
#sschat I'm intrigued and excited about using PBL and/or C3 inquiry to deep dive on important social studies concepts. However, I'm concerned how this approach dovetails with the day-to-day breadth of knowledge required by the SOLs. How do we do both effectively?
#sschat Why not take the C3 model and create my own inquiries? I could tweak an existing inquiry to fit my specific needs or even pare down a larger inquiry (like 240 minutes plus) to a more manageable 90 minutes. Why not?
#EdVaGlobal I would use the TakingITGlobal service to connect my students with students from other countries on collaborative projects. https://t.co/UGIt74VqXI
#edvaVT For social studies, I like the idea of using a dynamic image (pic or work of art) with the See, Think, and Wonder Routine to get students visibly thinking about a given topic.
