@mrmitchmusic yo, brace yourself for a boring (maybe interesting, idk!) answer: the typeface they've used doesn't contain an 'ffi' ligature, which has a unique unicode entity (U+FB03). They're usually drawn into fonts to alleviate awkward kerning issues :)
