s/o to Kemi for putting this out 👏🏽
Before you read this thread and immediately start planning a World Cup content page…
Here are 3 things that could save you time, effort, and potentially money:
1.Posting match highlights (past or present) can get you hit with copyright claims or strikes.
2.Getting paid by the platforms isn’t as easy as it sounds.
If you’re in Nigeria, TikTok won’t pay you through the Creator Rewards Program.
YouTube Shorts requires 1,000 subscribers + 10M Shorts views in 90 days.
Facebook requires 10,000 followers + 600,000 watch minutes in 60 days.
A brand new account is unlikely to hit those numbers in 39 days.
3.There’s no plan for what happens after July 19.
No audience retention strategy.
No content pivot.
No owned audience.
Without that, you’re building something temporary, not a creator business.
Here’s what I’d do instead:
Skip the highlight clips entirely.
Build original content around the tournament:
→ Predictions
→ Match reactions
→ Banter content
→ Storylines
→ Opinion pieces
→ Graphics and carousels
Football fans don’t just watch football, they argue about it. That’s content.
Use that attention to grow something you own.
A newsletter.
A community.
A personal brand.
If you’re already a football person, launch a simple newsletter on Beehiiv or Substack.
One email every matchday.
→ What happened.
→ The moments everyone is talking about.
With AI helping with research and drafting, this can be done in less than an hour.
Even 50–100 paying readers at $5/month is meaningful income for most creators.
No follower thresholds or algorithm dependency. Also no waiting to get accepted into a creator program.
I think this is a much more reliable approach than spending the next 39 days chasing views.
You’d be building an asset. The World Cup ends, the audience doesn’t have to.
UCL returns in September.
The transfer window opens in July.
There is no dead season if you plan the pivot now.
39 days can absolutely launch a creator career.
But only if you’re building something that survives after the WC tournament ends.

FINANCE / BUSINESS TWITTER:
You bought a land for 100 Million Naira. However, you are not ready to develop the land yet. Someone calls he wants to lease the land for a period of 3 years.
What amount is fair enough for the lease?
Like him or hate him, one thing is certain: Joe saw that Michael Jackson was going to be the GOAT. So, he tapped into that potential. His methods were unorthodox, it made Michael Jackson the person he grew up to be.
Not the ending we hoped for, but we’ll use this feeling the right way next season. To every City fan who travelled with us this season, thank you 🙏🏻 Congrats to Arsenal for the title.
Stan Kroenke is on a generational run right now.
In the last five years, his teams have won the...
• Super Bowl (LA Rams)
• NBA Finals (Denver Nuggets)
• Stanley Cup (Colorado Avalanche)
• Premier League (Arsenal)
He also owns SoFi Stadium, which has hosted the Super Bowl, the CFP National Championship Game, upcoming World Cup matches, and the 2028 Olympics opening/closing ceremony.
Not to mention, Kroenke also recently became the largest private landowner in the United States, with 2.7 million acres.
That's roughly the combined size of Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Philadelphia, and San Antonio.
