@ScoutTom_@MrEverton1878 Yeah that irked me too. Maybe profile a player who's 18-20 from Belgium, Portugal, Scandinavia, S. America etc + get them for a low fee even if they may not be ready for a year or 2? Buying from the big 5 leagues (especially the EPL), you will blow through money quickly.
@Iancroll1 I feel it's near certain that we'll accept £80m for Ndiaye, who'll certainly want to move. The club seems to want Jack back, so this probably happens also. Far from ideal as Ndiaye is crucial to our transitional style of play which will be hard to move away from now.
@SaintsForecast@RyanSoccerAA@CharlieBarnicle No chance of this happening. Best case for us is we get c. £80m for Ndiaye, Grealish on loan (75% wage contribution) with a small fee paid next summer to make it permanent (say £10m). This is not me saying I want to sell Ndiaye or sign Jack btw.
@PatricRidge@teenytinysuz I'd be suurprised if they signed another wide player on top of Grealish, but a forward who could operate wide, like Dju would be interesting. We need to spend that money somewhere, FB is an obvious area.
@PatricRidge@teenytinysuz That's a different question, but it's what we've been preparing for all summer. We're highly focused on creating in transition requiring active pressing + quick counters. I don't think this suits Jack at all. We tried a more possession style early last season, are we set up that?
Hume from #SAFC to #EFC. Good committed hard-tackling old style FB. Always fit, loads of energy. Questionable quality in the final third. Better than Myko but he's nowhere near Digne quality offensively, say. Played RW for them at the weekend + ended the season there as RLB...(1)
@PatricRidge@RyanSoccerAA@TheBlueFrontier For us, Ndiaye is way more important imo, as we attack in transition states. Grealish, whilst excellent is much more conventional in his play + easier to stop. Ndiaye's avility to play both wings helps George also, Jack arriving blocks him playing LW.
@RyanSoccerAA@Jake76707922569@TheBlueFrontier I'm pretty sure even Haaland underperformed his xG a couple of yearrs ago🤔 Don't have the tables in front of me, but would be the same season that Foden massively overperformed his.
@Progression1878@johnmerro1 Haha, them selling Savinho + Marmoush has changed the equation. Seems near certain he'll go, for £80m plus now. I just hope we have replacements lined up. Just replacing him with Grealish would be underwhelming. I like Jack but Ndiaye is far more dangerous + important for us.
prefer him to Johnston, Castagne etc. Fairly young (24), very dependable, pretty much guaranteed to put a "reducer" in once per game😄 If we were prepared to pay say £15m for Johnston or £10m for Castagne, then Hume is worth £20m.

But is he a European quality FB? One of the few carryovers from their promotion squad to retain starting berth, but Mukiele displaced him from RB and after that he was filling in where required - LB, RW and RB if Mukiele played CB. He wouldn't be transformative but I'd much...(3)
