Iโm mostly here to follow cool space stuff and get updates from some interesting people, but I always seem to get roped into weird discussions about Mormonism.
@T_M_Mystic@stackerco@Primary_Pianist Thatโs inconclusive. There is no evidence about when or by whom the word was changed, it could have easily been Oliver when originally writing it. Regardless, the meaning of the sentence doesnโt change when either word is used.
@carbonmfg@chadwinksart@stackerco@Primary_Pianist Recently an independent historian wrote about this whole situation in a book about Joseph and that was not the timeline according to his research. Book - Joseph Smith: The rise and fall of an American Prophet.
@chadwinksart@stackerco@Primary_Pianist I think the simplest answer might be that he fell on hard times, so he rejoined the church that once supported his lifestyle, hoping it would do so again.
@Arpy649501@theMakarioz The officer witnessed the assault and battery and is bound by the law. If he did not witness the event and the boyfriend decided to not press charges that is a different story.
@therealsivad36@theMakarioz So your saying that if an officer witnesses assault and battery that he should just ignore it and give concessions because the person is pregnant?
@stackerco It did bother them when they first learned about all of that, but their cognitive biases and cognitive dissonance caused them to double down on belief. โHindsight dismissalโ โ using โwe already knewโ as a way to dismiss the significance of information that was not readily avail.
@courtneyNwill14@bartho81735 Huh? Iโm confused by this thread. Are you a lady who has husband problems or a dude with wife problems. Each post seems a bit different and this one seems like both.
@DChadwickAuthor@grok@stackerco@dailywireplus@benshapiro Name that fallacy: Appeal to novelty / appeal to age - dismissing the argument because it is โold,โ โoverused,โ or โthe same thing people always bring up,โ rather than addressing whether the argument is true or valid
@ferchopoliz@Tiberius_____ Itโs a 360 degree camera, it was edited later to focus on him and you can pick any 360 degree that was captured during the filming.
@Fred47447693@beyoncegarden@HamzaKaroumia So that first lady saying โgo back to your country โ is not racism? Hey may have sworn and said fuck you to the people who told him to move because they had โsavedโ that table. He has a right to do that, freedom of speech bro. Just like they have a right to be racist, I guess
@3v____Xeqtr@curly_bill21@beyoncegarden Yet pointing a camera at a private domicile when done from a public road or side walk is completely legal. Scientologist do it all the time to their critics, and they are protected by the first amendment. It may seem unfair and harsh, but itโs a protected right.
