It’s simple. We interpret the Quran based on how the Prophet ﷺ understood it. The Quran was not revealed all at once but over 23 years. It had contexts of peace and contexts of war.

When a person can understand that, then we can clearly come to the conclusion that taking innocent lives is condemned by Islam.

I left Islam when my parents refused modern medicine for a fever but forced me to drink camel piss because “the Prophet allowed it.” That was the moment the whole religion died for me. I became the first in my family line to walk away. Now I’m free. No more camel piss.
