Quickmart has opened its IPO at Sh7.50 per share, valuing the supermarket chain at Sh30 billion.
The offer runs from 5 to 30 October 2026, with 2 billion existing shares on sale to raise Sh15 billion for the current shareholders.
Kenya is unlikely to get a new IMF deal before the August 2027 elections.

A new Bill has been proposed in Parliament that seeks to restrict access to some state information by classifying it as Top Secret, Secret, Confidential or Restricted.
The Bill could allow some information to remain classified for up to 30 years.
Kenya’s government spent Sh30 billion on domestic and foreign travel in the 2025/26 financial year, up by Sh5.2 billion from the previous year.
