THE GAME YOU CAN NEVER WIN
Introduction
The street never truly rests. From early morning to late evening, voices overlap, footsteps rush, and the sound of trade fills the air. People move with purpose, each carrying their own struggles, their own plans, and their own hopes for something better. In the middle of this constant motion, distractions are everywhere, small moments that pull attention away from reality and into something that feels promising.
Among these distractions, a small crowd gathers tightly around a wooden surface placed at the centre of the pavement. At first glance, it looks like harmless entertainment, a simple game played with three cards. The dealer’s hands move with impressive speed, flipping, sliding, and mixing the cards in a rhythm that captures the eyes of anyone watching. Laughter erupts when someone wins, and louder reactions follow as money exchanges hands quickly.
The game is called Pata Potea, a name that promises opportunity yet hides its true nature. It appears fair, almost easy to understand, but every movement is calculated. The winners are not strangers. The excitement is not accidental. Beneath the surface lies a system designed to draw people in, using hope as bait.
Here, curiosity is all it takes to step closer, and one small decision is enough to change everything.

CHAPTER 27 : A SECOND CHANCE TO LIVE DIFFERENTLY
Time passed, but the memory of that night remained clear in Jackson's mind. Whenever he carried his pistol, he remembered how close he had come to losing his career, reputation and the trust placed in him.
He no longer looked at the experience with confusion. He understood what had happened and why it had happened. The drinks, the stranger and the missing pistol were all part of the story, but the most important lesson was the decision that allowed his discipline to slip.
Jackson knew that responsibility could not be paused simply because a situation felt comfortable. Every choice carried consequences, even when those consequences were not immediately visible.
The experience changed the way he lived and worked. He became more deliberate, more observant and more careful with his decisions. He chose to leave alcohol behind and protect the discipline he had once taken for granted.
What nearly became a permanent loss instead became a turning point.
Jackson moved forward with gratitude for the second chance he had received and with a lesson that would remain with him for the rest of his life.

(Chapters 25-Last Episode) Thread 🧵
CHAPTER 25 : THE UNEXPECTED RETURN
As Jackson approached his residence, still troubled by everything that had happened, he noticed a man standing near his doorstep. The figure looked familiar, and as Jackson moved closer, he realised it was the taxi driver who had carried him earlier.
In the driver's hand was something Jackson immediately recognised. His pistol.
For a moment, Jackson stood still. He had spent hours worrying about the consequences of losing it, yet somehow the weapon had found its way back to him.
The driver explained that another passenger had noticed the pistol on the back seat after Jackson left the taxi. Instead of ignoring it, the passenger pointed it out. The driver remembered where he had dropped Jackson and decided to return it.
Jackson received the pistol carefully, feeling a deep sense of relief. He thanked the driver and offered him money as appreciation, but the man had only done what he believed was right.
As the driver left, Jackson remained at the doorway. He knew a stranger's honesty had given him a second chance, but he also knew his own carelessness had brought him dangerously close to losing everything.

CHAPTER 26 : THE WEIGHT OF THE LESSON
The incident stayed with Jackson long after the pistol had been returned. When he looked back at the night, he could now see the mistakes that had led him there.
It had started with a decision that seemed harmless at the time. Jackson had accepted a drink and slowly allowed his judgement to weaken. What followed had shown him how quickly a person could lose control when discipline was pushed aside.
When Jackson returned to duty, he carried himself differently. He checked his equipment more carefully and became more aware of situations that could affect his judgement. His service weapon was no longer something he handled as part of an ordinary routine. It represented a responsibility that demanded constant attention.
Jackson also realised that trust had to be balanced with personal limits. The people around him were not necessarily the danger. The greater danger was allowing himself to ignore the principles he already knew.
Eventually, he shared the experience with a few close colleagues. He did not want their sympathy. He wanted them to understand how one careless decision could create consequences far greater than expected.

Chapter 24 : Walking with Regret
With no leads and no answers, Jackson slowly made his way back towards the station. His steps were no longer rushed. The urgency had been replaced by a heavy sense of defeat. Each movement felt slower, as if the weight of his mistake was pulling him down.
His thoughts turned darker with every step. He imagined the questions he would face, the explanations he could not give, and the consequences that would follow. The situation was no longer something he could fix quietly.
Regret settled deeply within him. He replayed the night over and over, seeing clearly where things had changed. The decision to drink, the loss of awareness, the moment he stepped out of the taxi without checking. Each memory came back with painful clarity.
Jackson knew this was not just about one mistake. It was about a moment where discipline had failed. And now, he was walking back to face what came next, without knowing how it would end.
The distance to the station felt longer than usual, not because of the road, but because of what awaited him there.

THE NIGHT JACKSON ALMOST LOST EVERYTHING
(Chapters 22-24) Thread 🧵
Chapter 22 : A Desperate Search
Without wasting another second, Jackson rushed out, retracing his steps as best as he could remember. The morning air felt sharp against his skin, but he barely noticed. His focus was fixed on one thing, finding the pistol before it was too late.
He moved quickly towards the resort, his thoughts scattered but urgent. Every passing moment felt like time slipping away. He tried to piece together the night, forcing his memory to cooperate, but it responded with gaps and uncertainty.
When he reached the resort, he scanned the area, hoping to recognise something familiar. The entrance, the parking space, even the staff inside. Everything looked the same, yet nothing gave him the answer he needed.
He asked a few questions, but his description of the taxi was weak. He had no clear details, no number plate, no face of the driver. Just fragments of a journey he had barely registered.
Still, he refused to stop. Desperation pushed him forward, even as the chances of success felt smaller with every step.

Chapter 23 : No Trace Found
The search quickly turned frustrating. Every question Jackson asked led nowhere. The staff could not recall the taxi clearly, and the few answers he received only deepened his uncertainty. The night had moved on, taking with it the details he desperately needed.
He stood there, trying to force his memory to return something useful. A face, a colour, even a small detail that could guide him. But there was nothing solid to hold onto. The more he tried to remember, the more he realised how little he had noticed.
The reality became clear. He had no trace to follow. No direction to move towards. The situation was slipping beyond his control.
For a moment, he remained still, surrounded by people going about their day as if nothing had happened. Yet for him, everything had changed. The absence of the pistol was no longer just a mistake. It had become a problem with no visible solution.
In that silence, Jackson felt the full weight of uncertainty settle in.

@official_Sheye That driver was recklessly stupid. He could have hit the vehicles but chose the motorcycles, putting innocent lives in danger. That kind of recklessness should come with severe consequences.
