I’m thoroughly enjoying just how much Nigel Farage’s millions of pounds in gifts “for his security” have left him feeling in such a state of insecurity.
NEW: Andy Burnham is taking advice from a trio of top economists: Andy Haldane, former chief economist at Bank of England, Richard Hughes, former director of OBR, and Jim O’Neill, former chair of Goldman Sachs.
His team will hope this helps reassure the financial markets which might be a bit jittery when they first open tomorrow morning - if Burnham wins in Makerfield it brings him one step closer to Downing Street.
First reported by @AArmstrong_says, @alexwickham & @Joe_Mayes. Smart move to make sure FT and Bloomberg get wind of it!
Happy Challenge Cup Day everyone from a sunny Stubshaw Cross!
And here’s the good news in my latest update: I’ve asked my teams not to knock between 3pm and 5pm and leave you in peace to watch the match. 👍🏻
Great to meet my old PE teacher, the legend that is Mr O’D, whilst campaigning in Ashton.
Once told me I couldn’t play football for the school amymore if I didn’t play rugby league as I wasn’t tough enough.
Sound advice which will stand me in good stead in this campaign! 💪🏻
@piersmorgan Wrong… they are all going to shut up and fall into line. 8 to 1 is decisive, this PM’s team has no qualms in sanctioning anyone not toeing the line. @shah_arooj@JimfromOldham@AngelaRayner@AndyBurnhamGM The left will make a noise but the have always done that.
@Billbrowder Maybe the Ukraine- Russia talks are about to be concluded and the political environment is about to change, business as usual for Oligarchs? I have this sneaky feeling Abramovich thinks things will be normalised for him. Who knows? @NatRothschild1
@Billbrowder@NatRothschild1 Bill I see your point but they must be allowed representation, if anything Roman Abramovich should be worried he is choosing a MP from the party when in power confiscated the funds and froze them. This will be very interesting.
