Odin is an amazing language.
However, I somehow still prefer C (23). I kinda like using my own shitty interface for dynamic arrays. Makes you think, every time you reach for one, I could be doing this in other ways.
@ID_AA_Carmack Iuno, Animal Well was a success, and I don't think Billy Basso burned through 7 figures. Rain World was a success.
Rain World raised 65k in a kickstarter.
Hyper Light Drifter raised 650k, lotta money, but not seven figures.
I think, simply build a good game.
Hey everyone! Thanks for your interest. I have found an artist for now. If things change, or I have more demand for art in the future, I'll reach back out.
Looking for a pixel artist for a 2D top-down game I'm working on. No art exists yet.
Hyper Light Drifter / LOZ: ALP. Animal Well type shaders / lighting / palettes.
Characters / Animations / Maps.
I'm building a game on Raylib in C. It is a simple 2D game, so using an Archetypal ECS architecture is probably overkill (especially using a sparseset distributed between world / archetype), but I did it anyway. I just introduced system-scoped parallelization as well. Thoughts?
@Novaxarts I'm not using an engine. Building the game in C / Raylib.
I've built an integration with Tiled map editor, so I can export maps with a background image / object layer for spawn points, trigger points, etc.
No footage - just moving squares right now.
Characters / animationfirst
@Kash_Patel not off to a good start, my dude. same old - obfuscation, lies, and dressed-up nothingburger diversions. you made some big promises, and have delivered on none of them. your rhetoric was day 1, and now you are going to use your freshness as an excuse. same old.
@elonmusk A lot of tech companies like Netflix are straight up asking you for your gender identity and sexual orientation as part of the voluntary disclosures part of an application.
This should be illegal, no? This issue should be amplified so American companies knock this off
