@fareastenders I would argue, enabling free competition would bring down prices pretty quickly. If AliPay got a US banking license, with the transaction costs they have shown in China, and some business model innovations, I feel like they would make a dent on those charts.

Also players like Ping An's OneConnect are solving that in China by connecting almost 500 tier 2/3 banks on a new digital infrastructure to provide a range of digital services.
