I’ll clarify on this one. He’s good and I think if I knew him personally I would admire everything about him and he obviously has a big influence in the team. But, outside of 2019, and then 2023 final, he makes too many mistakes to be the GOAT everyone says he is.
@Lancegordon85@ChalynRugby That’s a good explanation, I’m just curious about what the defending team is supposed to do in this scenario if that’s allowed, they’ve ultimately been punished for getting a crucial turnover where they should have been rewarded
I usually discourage young playmakers from joining the Bulls - I believe they’ve got too many players coming through the ranks to give everyone the development and game-time necessary. Yet in LG case, I bet he gets the 15 jersey and receives the attention needed to make him great
@GreggMac11 I don’t think 7 is a genuine concern - I controversially don’t believe PS has been near what he was in the final for a straight 20 minutes yet he still fills the role we need him for perfectly, so I don’t imagine with the potential we have coming through that he’s irreplaceable
@GreggMac11 Elrigh is still coming back from an injury everybody thought might end his career, if we give him a while he’ll be back to what he was - that’s why he hasn’t looked the part
Hanekom has shown he’s willing to work wherever he plays & with Jasper still prime 7 opens up
What I love about him is that he’s just a rugby-loving talent with an unmatched rugby IQ. Don’t want to compare, but the only other SA player I’ve put in this category is Cheslin. Who do you think of as just pure talent?
@RugbyGerrit@wallabies@Springboks Completely agree with this - I also see discipline being a real problem for them in competetions - you can argue that the Springboks should have done more with 4 men binned, but the issue of having four men binned when there was a little bit more pressure is going to cost them
