Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Alphabet, was asked point blank if AI is a bubble.

He didn't dodge. He said yes -- partly -- and that not even Google gets out clean:

"You see real demand, and we are constrained in our ability to serve that demand."

"When we go through these investment cycles, there are moments we overshoot -- collectively, as an industry."

"We can look back at the internet: there was clearly a lot of excess investment."

"It's both rational, and there are elements of irrationality through a moment like this."

"No company is going to be immune, including us. If you overinvest, we'll have to work through that phase."

The tell isn't that he admitted the irrationality. It's that the man sitting on the most compute on earth is already pricing in the overshoot -- while telling you the demand underneath it is real. A bubble and a revolution were never mutually exclusive. The internet was both.

Strong attack on frontier AI labs from silicon valley insider and Palantir CEO Alex Karp.

He explicitly mentions that enterprises must own the "means of production" in the video interview. I have long talked about why no large enterprise or nation that wants to be wealthy should ever outsource the critical capital goods needed for production - it would end up transferring "alpha" (all value creation) to its capital goods providers.

In a different context, this issue is already causing pain in the textile spinning industry. High tech robotic spinning machines are so expensive, it now takes over 7 years to recover the cost of machines by selling the finished product (yarn). So some of the mills are rethinking the foreign capital goods vs domestic labor spending.

Software companies that do "tokenmaxxing" also transfer all value to frontier labs.

Here is the crux of the matter: the entire business case behind the multi-trillion dollar capex by AI providers hinges on extracting all value from the rest of the economy and concentrating that in a few companies.

The rest of the economy has started to rebel, even the rest of the _silicon valley_ economy!

If there is one politician whom I want to see succeed, then it has to be K Annamalai

This educated, highly accomplished man deserves the chance to make it big in politics.

He is articulate, has a clear vision, and his unapolegtic about his ideology.

Annamalai doesn't shy away from wearing his ethnic and religious identity on his sleeves either.

What makes him unique is his clear departure from cheap linguistic politics and regionalism.

If people of Tamil Nadu can accept a 12th pass actor as their CM, then this man should also get the much-deserved recognition and popular support in due course of time.

Today, he took a bold step by resigning from the BJP.

I hope @annamalai_k reaches greater heights in his political journey in the coming days.
