Your first response to your ch+ating husband is finding out how to help him out of the problem — Actor Daniel Etim Effiong
Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong has sparked reactions online after sharing his opinion on how couples should handle ch+ating in marriage during a conversation with media personality Ife Agoro.
Speaking during the discussion, Daniel said that when a partner ch+ats, the first response should not be anger or self-focus, but trying to help the offending partner “out of the problem.”
According to him, ch+ating should first be seen as a personal problem the ch+ating partner is dealing with before the couple can address the damage done to the relationship.
“If someone messes up in a marriage, your first approach should be, ‘How can I help you?’” he said.
When Ife Agoro questioned why the betrayed partner should be the one thinking about helping, Daniel insisted that the ch+ating partner is already “in a problem” and needs help getting out of it before both parties can begin healing together.
He added that focusing only on personal hurt would not solve the issue, stressing that love “is not self-seeking.”
However, Ife repeatedly pushed back against his opinion, saying she did not agree with the idea of prioritising the feelings of the ch+ating partner over the emotional p@in of the person who was betrayed.

Ukraine recovers the d+ad bodies of another 2 Nigerians f+ghting for Russia without training
The Ukrainian Defence Intelligence (UDI) has confirmed that two Nigerian men, Hamzat Kazeem Kolawole and Mbah Stephen Udoka, were k+lked while serving as Russian mercenaries in Luhansk.
In a statement on Thursday, UDI released photographs of the men in military poses and one family photo. “In the Luhansk region, military intelligence operatives discovered the bodies of two citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Hamzat Kazeen Kolawole (03.04.1983) and Mbah Stephen Udoka (07.01.1988),” the agency said.
Both men had joined the Russian Army in the second half of 2025, signing contracts with the 423rd Guards Motor Rifle Regiment of the 4th Guards Kantemirovskaya Tank Division. Udoka reportedly received no formal training and was deployed to Ukraine just five days after signing his contract.
Records for Kolawole’s training were not preserved, but it is believed he also lacked military preparation. The men were k+lled in late November while attempting to storm Ukrainian positions. According to UDI, they “never engaged in a f+refight” and were eliminated by a drone str+ke.
Kolawole leaves behind a wife and three children in Nigeria. UDI used the incident to issue a stark warning to foreign citizens: “traveling to Russia carries the risk of being forced into d@ngerous combat units, potentially ending up d+ad on Ukrainian soil.”

Yuletide: NCDC Warns Nigerians of Lassa Fever, Meningitis, Disease Outbreaks
As Nigerians gear up for the yuletide celebrations, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has cautioned citizens to prioritise their health, warning that increased travel, crowded gatherings and the dry season could trigger a rise in infectious diseases.
In a public health advisory signed by the Director-General, Dr Jide Idris, the agency identified Lassa fever, Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM), diarrhoeal diseases and foodborne illnesses as key threats during the festive period, while also raising concerns over the growing misuse of antibiotics.
"This period of increased travel, large gatherings and food sharing, coupled with the dry season, increases the risk of infectious disease transmission," Idris said, noting that improper use of antibiotics could worsen antimicrobial resistance and make infections harder to treat.
The NCDC warned that Lassa fever, spread through contact with food contaminated by rodents or infected persons, remains a major concern, advising households to maintain clean environments, store food properly and seek urgent medical attention if symptoms such as fever or vomiting occur. It also cautioned that the dry season increases the risk of meningitis outbreaks, urging Nigerians to avoid overcrowded spaces, ensure proper ventilation and stay alert to symptoms.
The agency further advised Nigerians to practise good hygiene, handle food safely, avoid self-medication and ensure vaccinations, including meningitis vaccines, are up to date. It encouraged anyone feeling unwell to contact the NCDC's 24-hour toll-free line, 6232, or visit the nearest health facility.
