Blacklivesmatter, Indigenouslivesmatter, Translivesmatter, Disabledlivesmatter, fuckthepatriarchy (if you find any of that offensive, well, fuckyoutoo 🤷♀️)
🧵120 hours of testimony +4 hours of closing arguments, it’s just too much! I wanted to share some of the screen recordings of the trial that I found interesting, most of which I haven’t seen being widely shared, if at all #JohnnyDeppVsAmberHeardTrial
🧵With all of the media surrounding the JD trial, I was so disinterested at first (who cares about rich people’s problems, amirite?) so I was doing my best to ignore all the chatter surrounding it but one day social media blew up declaring JD the winner and calling him brave…
You can become disabled or homeless in an instant.
Even if you’re young and healthy.
Even if you have a “good job” and a back up plan.
Even if you think you’re doing everything right.
Disability and poverty are not moral failings.
They can happen to anyone.
Society is 'fine' with disabled people as long as you hide your suffering
Post about it on social media? Attention seeking
Get mobility devices? Faking
Let the world see that you're in pain? Not trying hard enough
This is ableism.
What the AISH Changes Actually Mean for People Who Rely on It
A close look at how AISH and ADAP actually work, why the math doesn’t add up, and who bears the real risk when disability policy prioritizes ideology over supporting those with disabilities.

on black history month we remember marsha p johnson and other trans women like her. the average life expectancy for black trans women is 30 y/o because of murder and suicide. always remember to keep your black trans sisters in your hearts and fight for them to have better days.
This. When I complain about changes to AISH, so many people say “fight it”
I can’t speak for others, but I’m on AISH because I have impairments that make things like advocacy extremely draining, especially for my mental health.
We need allies, not advice.
Want to say something reassuring to a friend with chronic illness?
Try reassuring them you’re flexible with plans: “I know your symptoms are unpredictable. No pressure to hang out if you need to cancel plans if you’re not feeling well. We can always reschedule.”
This #WomensDay2024 let’s tell stories of incredible women like Tinu. She’s gone through so much & continues to advocate for Long Covid awareness & Covid caution. As she said if we tell our stories - sometimes we get someone to mask up!
If you think masking is too hard, you’re not going to like living with chronic illness.
If you’re still angry about “lockdowns”, the isolation and loss of autonomy that comes with disability will be a struggle.
Wear a mask. Clean the air. Protect your health. It’s worth it.
i genuinely can’t imagine how terfs don’t realize that transphobia won’t be limited to hurting trans people. it’s all about limiting how women can look and sound and act and exist. it’s not just about being trans. it can will and has been weaponized against cīs women as well.
Ok. I was really caught off guard here. I did not expect my visceral reaction to this message from James Vanderbeek.
Do yourself a favor and listen. Just listen. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t excluding trans women just segregating women who fail to meet a beauty standard a majority of us don’t meet in the first place?
Every nursing home should have a seminar once a month where an outside contracted individual comes in and does a presentation on resident rights. One day if I get my life back I want to be that person. I would tour state-to-state and make it mandated that nursing homes provide residents information about their rights. I would give each one and their families my Zine (seen below). These “homes” bombard us with rules about what *we* can and can’t do. These same homes don’t want residents to know what the HOME can't do though. In this way, it is easier to abuse residents because they don't know that they have rights and protections
Seriously... buy Chapmans products if only for their pro-Canadian stance and leadership.
But, seriously, buy Chapmans because their ice cream is fucking amazing and it's all Canadian.

BREAKING: Since today’s headline is about Luigi Mangione alleged “sex tapes”, this is a reminder that NYPD Chief of Detectives Joseph Kenny, who’s involved in Mangione’s prosecution and appeared in a documentary portraying him as guilty, has a history of making false and defamatory statements that falsely charged plaintiffs with serious crimes, damaging their reputation.
For the record, exercise and physical exertion when you are sick lowers your immune system
You need to be resting
And if you can’t even take a break from exercising to rest & heal without guilt, your relationship to exercise & the gym really needs to change
