Hi @united - could you please confirm allergens for this meal served LDN Heathrow > Chicago yesterday. The attendant assured me it was tofu and that it was vegan.
When I asked a different attendant to confirm that it was tofu she said 'i don't know what it is, we don't get told'.

@united We don’t need a discussion about ingredients. We know what they were. A more important discussion is training @united staff on importance of allergens & facts. If staff aren’t provided with info then why? And if they are provided but don’t understand it then that’s also an issue.

@united The serving of allergens to people, particularly on long flights, is incredibly dangerous. It shouldn’t take me having to complain for a SECOND TIME to get this heard. Luckily I don’t have a fatal allergy but it sure did ruin my first 24 hours in Chicago.

Perhaps it would be preferable if somebody died on a flight to get all @United staff trained properly? This is an issue I raised in 2018 when I was served food that contained milk as part of the vegan meal and yet a few months later I am served solid cheese and told it is tofu.

This is the SECOND TIME @united has served me an allergen, even after double checking with their crew who told me this was tofu. I have an intolerance to dairy and this cheese made me ill. What needs to be done to make United take the serving of allergens on flights seriously?
