@jpkuchera@marceelias Normally, I'd agree, but the same people calling us "hysterical" for pointing all of this out long ago still are considered credible pundits, and still call other aspects of our criticism "hysterical," now, and have hamstrung passing legislative changes to protect ourselves.
@TimRunsHisMouth Math is hard, huh buddy? Smarter to spend trillions fighting Russia directly when they invade Europe? This is why we ridicule you as morons: Because you're stupid AF. This cost us a rounding error in the defense budget and we lost zero soldiers. Your plan is stupid.
@RachelBitecofer @ethannichtern It doesn't matter if they "see" it or not, fiduciary responsibility laws grease the skids for status quo coverage because that's what's best for next quarter and next year and corporate managers can be fired and sued over lost profits if they don't prioritize tangible gains.
@ThePaulMaster22@DrCABerry @PaulPirateFlag @SusanDebraBlum@JRubinBlogger "hellhole blue state"? You are clueless if you think you've moved to paradise: We have bridges on interstates collapsing into creeks, bankrupt outsourced highways, road construction projects decades delayed and schools out of money despite billions in state budget surpluses.
@ThePubliusUSA Didn't Greg Abbott cap punitive damages in Texas? You know, in a flaming fit of hypocrisy, after he became independently wealthy from a large damages payment for his permanent injury?
@JWB_uwui @itsJeffTiedrich And your law degree is from where?
Bannon's charge is a slam dunk. It's an attendance check. No show? You're guilty.
He wasn't there.
@mjsisko @Mafisonbb12 And it's also illegal for the cops to treat an unused gun as suspicious so it doesn't matter that they aren't allowed to carry it if police are not allowed to inquire about their license to enforce the law.
@ChaosIsMyLife3@leotessie22@Mafisonbb12 Is it a guarantee? Of course not. Crooks have been caught on more gossamer leads than this and given that the old licensing law was inexpensive and minimally invasive (it was a formality, only criminals don't have one,) there was no real reason to switch to this system.
@ChaosIsMyLife3@leotessie22@Mafisonbb12 Police who see you with a gun, by law, can't ask you about it until you do something with it. So if the shooter was stopped for a traffic citation, the cop sees the gun, now it's illegal to ask about it and he probably goes on his way to do the shooting, his estate $150 poorer.
@leftcoastbabe@Mafisonbb12 "No license" gun laws are utter, blind stupidity masquerading as common sense. My lifetime permit was under $50 and took me less than an hour, all in, to complete. The old system wasn't in any way invasive or disruptive, it was simple and cheap. This is zealotry run amok.
@leftcoastbabe@Mafisonbb12 Not really the point. The point is if it turns out this person wasn't legally allowed to have whatever gun they used and got stopped for rolling a stop sign, a cop that noticed the gun couldn't legally ask him about it or treat it as suspicious and investigate further.
