Crazy SF permitting story
Woman buys house, turns out it has an “unpermitted ADU” (storage area with unpermitted bathrooms, comically low ceiling heights)
Neighbor complains to city about it
City says you can’t convert to storage, because that’s removing a housing unit and we’re in a housing crisis, someone must live in the unit
But you also can’t rent the unit, because it’s not up to code, you must excavate below the foundation to get the ceiling heights correct
“But wait that costs like half a million dollars I don’t have that!”
“Ok we can delay enforcement until you do”
So now nobody can use the space, neither for living nor for storage, indefinitely
We did it! Hooray!
This just gets crazier by the second. @Meta and @finkd need to address this ASAP. This is the flock-fueled future everyone is afraid of and corporations keep telling everyone it's fine. Prove it.

WATCH: A humanoid robot training for the “Robot Olympics” in Beijing runs too fast, fails to stop, slams into a safety cushion, and breaks at the waist
I saw a llama on the loose while mountain biking near Skeggs Point south of SF. Park rangers were not successful at capturing the thing and had no idea where it came from
@TheStalwart There needs to be labor laws banning the kind of cruelty this chain inflicts on its workers. Cannot imagine hearing one song on loop for a 12-hour shift. Good prices though and beer selection.
