Overthinking is exhausting because sometimes you're not even trying to solve a problem anymore. You're trying to prepare yourself for every possible way it could hurt you. You rehearse conversations that haven't happened, and imagine endings before things have even begun.
I hate getting so sad that my body completely shuts down, and all I can do is lie there, staring at nothing while my mind replays every problem I’ve been trying to ignore. It’s exhausting when even the simplest things feel impossible, when you want to get up, distract yourself, and feel normal again, but you just don’t have the energy. And the worst part is that your mind never rests, even when your body can’t do anything else. Sometimes I wish I could give myself a break from my own thoughts and just feel okay for a little while.
Life is never fair, and maybe we should’ve been taught that from the very beginning. Some people will leave without giving you closure, some things won’t work out no matter how badly you wanted them to, and sometimes good people will go through things they never deserved. We spend so much time asking why, believing life should reward our efforts and intentions, only to learn that it doesn’t always work that way. Maybe accepting that doesn’t make life easier, but it teaches you to stop expecting fairness from everything and start finding your own way through it.
Don’t be afraid to pivot and change directions. Don’t allow your age to deter you or the fear of starting a new path cripple you. You can be 30, 50, 70. As long as you’re alive and capable, you’re always going to be on a journey of self discovery. Don’t chain yourself to dreams you had at one moment in life, or just one dream at a time. You can pursue whatever, whenever. And any regrets you have of not pursuing things before, don’t have to be regrets because you can always start them today! Life becomes fun when you pursue your passions and don’t limit yourself.
I am a firm believer that you never truly know a person until you’ve experienced conflict with them. That’s when you see how they communicate, how they handle discomfort, and who they really are.
the unsettling thing about growing as a person is that you become so self aware that you see the unhealthy tendencies you used to have in people around you and it's not something you can unsee
