@Mmccue265684 Yes! When watching videos to respond to, somene was reading out examples of sentences with incorrect syntax and then rereadin them with correct syntax and I realized I speak and wrote with wrong syntax all the time!
I really liked that myth 9 explored the ideas that the myth basically says that they're unable to/are too dumb to progres sin language or that they they're too "fancy" and proper because they still speak that old english. #eng211o1fa23
I am no just realizing that I tend to write how I speak and the way I speak is with a lot of syntactical errors. Not big enough errors where you don't understand what I am saying but wrong according to the rules. #eng211o1fa23
I had learned about dependent and independent clauses in middle school and had not really head or them again until the syntax video in this module. It was a nice refresher. #eng211o1fa23
It's kind of crazy that the rules mentioned in the syntax reading are actually used by people when it comes so naturally to me to just know the rules, although not perfectly. #eng211o1fa23
It's so sad to think that even women's language is altered because of how dangerous it is for her to go out and they need to protect themselves. #eng211o1fa23
Grammar is not super needed when speaking. Tone, facial expressions, hang gestures etc, help us express ourselves correctly, but its a lot more important when writing but even then, no one has perfect grammar and we all understand each other very well. #eng211o1fa23
In the end, discrimination against the black vernacular is not a grammar thing, but a racism thing. The things they deem wrong about black vernacular is oay in different languages and dialects?

I loved the example myth 13 used saying that a South American Spanish speaker would not understand a test in castillain Spanish. They're both Spanish just two completely different dialects.

I really liked the turtles walking towards the ocean when they hatch example. I find it crazy that us humans have things that we just do without knowing what we do at first like developing language. #eng211o1fa23
I don't really understand the whole one language is beautiful but this one isn't, but I def have heard that from family members. My family says that about other different Mexican accents. #eng211o1fa23
So uhm... why is the bibliography due the 22nd? Are we already supposed to be working on the research paper? I don't even know what the topic is. HELP! #eng211o1fa23
A bibliography seems very time consuming. What if the sources I decide to use are like 30 pages long? Do I have to annotate all 30 pages? #eng211o1fa23
@Justinhei33 English is my second language but I learned it as a child alongside other children. It was sooo much easier than if I wold have to learn it right now. I'd feel so behind!
I understand that the way we have spelling work right now is to caters to phonetic differences, but it's so frustrating for little kids! They hate when they can't just sound out the words and get them right like their teacher taught them. #eng211o1fa23
