Neither of the two are perfect pieces of software, they have a way to go to get to truly optimal user experience and security. Strong metadata privacy requires decentralization, decentralization is hard, users expecting multi-device support makes everything harder. Sybil / DoS resistance, both in the message routing network and on the user side (without forcing phone number dependence) adds further difficulty.

These problems need more eyes on them. I wish all teams working on these important problems best of luck.

I lost half a million dollars in a little over a month.

One month you’re on top of the world. All your desires are in reach, you start dreaming bigger, you get greedy, you forget to be humble.

A month later it’s all gone. Money that could’ve changed your life is gone. All the expectations vanish, the world crumbles on you, and all you’re left with is regret.

That’s how FAST life can change.

I know this is all in God’s plan for me. I forgot how to be grateful for what I already had and walked the wrong path, chasing things that, in hindsight, really don’t matter at all. The lesson has been learned.

This will make me better long term, both as a trader and as a person. I know I will run it back eventually, so do not worry for me. But PLEASE, if you have to take just ONE thing from all my posts over this year and last, let this be it:

STAY GRATEFUL and don’t forget where you came from.

Don’t indulge in bad habits. Stay close to God, stay focused, and most importantly, remember that arrogance will kill you if you don’t recognise it in time. Avoid it at all costs.

Let this post be a warning, and please, don’t make the same mistakes as I did.
