@AriadneVromen @ronnnie_12trans@BethCharleston@WarwickMcKibbin That’s heartening!
I suspect many are feeling jittery and need some confidence. Calm insistence the exec opens its books and shows us the reasoning and data behind the proposed salary cuts it crucial.
@WarwickMcKibbin, I hope any data and answers you get can be circulated
@AriadneVromen @ronnnie_12trans@BethCharleston Hi @AriadneVromen do you think the need for a $100M salary cut is sound?
Is there anyone independent looking into the basis of the executive’s $250M shortfall claim? I get the frustration with the Chancellor but it’s more urgent to know if the prob is as the exec presents it.
New article!

@MtMajura@rini_rants Venn diagramism? Great paper title. Yeah, behavioural psychology / economics is lowest hanging conceptual fruit in so much of environmental studies.

@alexburns@NickRiemer1@NTEUUniMelb@_luciannan@gemmalucysmart@Sydney_Uni Yes, eurocentrism limits Oz ECRs who are being pushed into cheap teacher roles. Another reason to open up the bigger question about how phd scholars are trained and paid before tenure is possible. Wage + time theft from phd research compounds the issues for many casuals.
@alexburns@NickRiemer1@NTEUUniMelb@_luciannan@gemmalucysmart@Sydney_Uni Basically I’m saying level A salaried employment should be attached to phd training. And while those intellectuals in training couldn’t immediately be given tenure, they could be treated as full staff members. Then we struggle together (rather than apart) over workload policies.
