"If you can’t get behind decisions you make regarding your work and career, then you won’t commit to them. If you aren’t committed, then you won’t get the results you’re after. Or worse, you’ll experience regret and frustration."

Writers, how do you go about setting goals? Do you give yourself deadlines? Plan weekly, monthly, yearly? Or do you just take it one day at a time until it's done?
Being mindful is realizing how much better you feel when you spend your days actually doing things rather than being a slug. Around 2pm I did a 180 and decided to stop wasting my day.
Completed several work tasks, cleaned my house, cooked dinner, and dusted off an embroidery project. My mood has entirely changed from this morning, and this will serve as a reminder the next time I feel sluggish and unmotivated.
If you want to write found family, don't rush the "family" part. Deep conversations, heated arguments, a need to protect each other, and even nicknames...it takes time to develop these. The more time you take, the more invested a reader will be when the shit hits the fan.
I have had too many moments in my life where I've told myself: "Once I get through [blank], I'll focus on [blank]."
Somehow that first blank always gets replaced by something else, inevitably delaying my goals. It's an ongoing struggle, but all you can do is figure out the baby steps and take them one at a time.

"Comparison can be healthy when done responsibly. This means choosing work at a similar level to yours, in the same genre, for the same audience, with similar voice or point-of-view choices."

@BookSpotlight It's genuinely scary. Someone asked me why I hated AI so much, and I told her it tries to devalue actual artists and she was all "Pffft, AI isn't going to take over creative art." Um, it's already happening.
Keep speaking out. I admire you so much.
