@KatieWhite612 That’s a great question! The parkways definitely come up in our archival work and we similar, if not more pronounced, patterns! But the mapping work itself is a little more challenging because often times the parkways were changing over time
“This research shows that disparities in Minneapolis’ park system weren’t an accident — parks, race and real estate have always been deeply intertwined,” said @RebHWalker, an author of the study.
You may have heard that species like coyotes are territorial, but it can be hard to visualize what that means. This map shows GPS movements of 11 coyotes (each one a different color) that we've collared and tracked in the TCCFP since 2020, showing clear territory boundaries.
Listen to @RebHWalker discuss her latest journal article on how racial covenants and development in Minneapolis have impacted the physical and social landscape over time. Don't miss out on this interesting episode! #environmentalprivilege#racialcovenants https://t.co/JaCOi8Pmw8
Our East Phillips community members matter. Native lives matter. Black lives matter. Hmong lives matter. From East Phillips to East Saint Paul, we are going to hold the line because our children deserve it.
The Roof Depot is in @RepHassan and @IlhanMN’s district and neither have said anything about its impending demolition, or the arsenic plume that will be released into a 70% PoC neighborhood with the largest native-preference public housing development in the US!
There are very few benefits to clearing encampments in public spaces. Doing so is a political decision, with devastating implications. https://t.co/9jrfiurSCU #HousingFirst

An Indgineous-led occupation of the Roof Depot building in the East Phillips neighborhood is underway. If you are able, please consider donating to help support those on the ground at Nenoocaasi Camp. Urban farm, not toxic harm!
RIGHT NOW: About 30 people are occupying the former Roof Depot site in East Phillips.
They vow to stay until @CityMinneapolis abandons plans to expand a public works campus here. Demolition of the building, which would pave way for the city’s plans, could begin next week.
@epni_urbanfarm This zoning map (1920) shows how Mpls City gov *intentionally* put pollution in East Phillips. They zoned the majority of the neighborhood as industrial (red and blue), exposing low-income renters (orange) to pollution. The City created this envi racism and now is doubling down
