The story of Minnesota republicans: Why choose consistency when confusion is free? A moment of silence for Derek Chauvin followed by an endorsement of a Black candidate for governor. The political gymnastics deserve an Olympic medal!!!
Tonight has been truly monumental, a testament to the hard work of my family, my team, and the great STP community. I'm overwhelmed by the love and support. This marks just the beginning; we now face the challenging task of running the city and moving it forward. Thank you all.
Tonight a resident posted a picture of racist and Islamaphobic language written on Johnson street that called for Senator @OmarFatehMN to be deported and wished death upon the Somali community. @doronclark and I showed up right away to get this racist garbage off of our streets.
Outrageous! Senator Omar Fateh’s office was vandalized in Minneapolis. This is not just property damage—it’s an attack on our democracy and our community. We stand in full solidarity with Senator Fateh. Hate will not silence our voices.
#VoteFateh4mayor
This week our campaign office was vandalized with an Islamophobic threat. We will not be deterred by hate speech. The people of Minneapolis are demanding change. I'll continue fighting for it. We're still going to win this election! Donate today to help: https://t.co/GVFjopmhu7
The DFL stripping Omar Fateh’s endorsement is a disgrace. Delegates voted, the people spoke—and insiders erased it behind closed doors. This isn’t democracy, it’s sabotage. If grassroots voices can be tossed aside once, they can be tossed aside anytime.
With all due respect Pat, stay out of our local politics. You are neither a Minneapolis resident nor a DFLer. If I were you, I would worry about your own dysfunctional party.
Congratulations to Team Fateh and the residents of Minneapolis for speaking loud and clear, demanding a new direction for their city leadership. Let’s go!
I am incredibly honored to be the DFL endorsed candidate for Minneapolis Mayor. This endorsement is a message that Minneapolis residents are done with broken promises, vetoes, and politics as usual. It’s a mandate to build a city that works for all of us. https://t.co/rU6v90TJPp
Statement from Sophie and Colin Hortman, children of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark:
"The best way to honor our parents' memory is to do something, whether big or small, to make our community just a little better for someone else.”
BREAKING NEWS: House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband are both dead after they were shot at their Brooklyn Park home. https://t.co/BGO9ZcyR2I
It was an honor to represent this community for 6 years—including during the murder of George Floyd. Though I no longer hold office, I remain committed to the fight for justice.
Now more than ever, we must resist complacency and continue the work. #GeorgeFloyd#Justice
The way the Senate got steamrolled today—you’d think we were in the minority.
Heartbreaking day for immigrants, communities of color, and our base.
This is beyond fucked up.
Honored beyond words for this Congressional award, now a permanent fixture in the @librarycongress Big shoutout 2 my sister @IlhanMN for this recognition. It's a celebration of service, commitment, and community impact. Let's keep inspiring! #Award#Community#Legacy@HukunDabar
Today, I joined two of my favorite leaders and role models: @Ilhan Omar and former MN-62B Rep Hodan Hassan. Congresswoman Omar presented an official U.S. House document honoring @RepHassan for her years of service to our state. Honored to stand beside you both in service.🥰
I strongly condemn any acts of violence or incitement in the Jubbaland region. I urge the administration of President Hassan Sheikh and Prime Minister Hamza Barre to prioritize de-escalation and engage in meaningful dialogue to resolve this dispute peacefully. @TheVillaSomalia
It is only through constructive and inclusive peace talks that we can achieve stability and address the underlying issues affecting the region. Violence is never the answer, and I call on all parties to act with restraint and work toward a lasting solution that benefits JL.
@TheVillaSomalia I urge President Hassan Sh. Mohamud to use peace talks and de-escalate the tension between Jubbaland and FGS. We cannot resort to violence and de-establize a region that has had relative peace in the last decade. I urge you Mr. President to do better.
