Remember when Pep fans used to claim that he never signed 100m players!!
I sometimes wonder how Pep fans changed narratives over the last 15 years.
First, Pep used to give opportunities to young players while Jose was the checkbook manager. Pep started to spend heavily and everyone forgot that narrative.
Then Pep used to be an attacking manager while Jose was the defensive one. Then Pep stayed playing CBs at fullback focusing on rest defense and people forgot about that narrative. Defense and control became the buzzword.
Then the narrative became how Pep never spent big money on superstars. Then Pep threw 90-100m on players for fun and that narrative died.
Pep has left, but City continue to spend. They spend heavily on Nico and Reijnders. Ready to replace them within 2 years.
