the amount of people that victim blame when it comes to idols vs stalkers/sasaengs is shocking. think about the situation for more than two seconds and you’ll start to realise how intricately complex it actually is. idols receive media training, do not have much autonomy to make their own decisions, and cannot behave in a way that may cause problems or issues for the company. they are professionals doing a job. they cannot act out of line, straight up ignore, or openly show displeasure towards any fans, particularly those that generate a lot of money for the company through their behaviours and participation.

idols cannot just call out these individuals or ask them to stop. they are expected to remain polite and composed, and sometimes even offer these people the fanservice they want. stop treating it as something simple, when the reality is complicated and, honestly, extremely unfair. i think it’s sickening that they have to endure this, but what makes it even worse is seeing fans repeatedly blame them for a situation they have no control over
