it may be time to eliminate the City Of Austin and replace it with the district of Travis run by an appointed board of directors by the Governor.

The other option short of that is surface, the legislation by former representative Ron Wilson that would state that any city under the council manager form of government cannot pay council members more than $50 per meeting, and that the council cannot be more than once a week. That would certainly eliminate a lot of mischief.
