@s_westbrooke is such an influential member of the recorder community. So many people have told me she was the first person who showed them the recorder being played seriously. How does one woman have THAT much power omfg.
@s_westbrooke is an actual legend. So many people have come up to me and told me that the reason they take the recorder seriously was because of her BBC Young Musician performance. For one person to have the impact she did is amazing and I aspire to be her.
I can't be the only recorder player who now has multiple technical issues due to never actually having a professional recorder player as a teacher.
Like until very recently I thought you put the mouthpiece behind your teeth and NOT ONE PERSON corrected me smh.
Look I've seen and lived through a lot of recorder trolls but none will ever top people telling @s_westbrooke that she's holding the recorder wrong. Comedy gold every single time.
Me: I'm going to be a good recorder player this year. I'm going to play mainstream pieces so I can get a sense of staple repertoire. I promise.

This isn't my first post about @Nakazako but I really think we need to give the superb melodies and timbre in his new concerto more credit. Balancing recorder with all these other instruments is NOT an easy job.
Can anyone recommend to me any recorder pieces that are similar to the butterfly lovers violin concerto or the golden age flute concerto? I'm really getting into that style of music recently!
Berio's Gesti sounds like a surgery where they forgot to put the patient on anaesthetic so the patient is screaming in pain and the surgeons are screaming because they forgot to put anaesthetic on the patient and the rest of the piece is what's going on in their heads
