I have had incredible results getting children to read and focus on books when I actively dj-ing minimal techno with the subs on. I am wondering if there's a Richie Hawtin library hack for education
Black Mahogani by @Moodymann313 was one of the best selling LPs in Record Time Dance Room history!

Hey #Detroit@BlondieOfficial ALWAYS gives you more! And do 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 extra for @clem_burke - punk rock’s MVP and IMHO, an honorary Detroiter via The Romantics. It’s what I like about him HEY!
CLEM BURKE RIP
We were both very sad to hear that our mate of 20 years passed away yesterday.
To us he was our cool big brother & thank him for the love and fun we had together over the years.
Clem we love you to the Moon and Back and because of you Dreaming is free

Today in Hip-Hop — J. Dilla released his debut studio album, ‘Welcome 2 Detroit.' 💿🔥
With so much Dilla scholarship and love out there, there’s still one aspect of his catalog that is under-appreciated: his first true solo album. Yes, it’s true that the project got a massive 20th-anniversary reissue a few years back that included an oral history of its creation. But even massive Dilla fans tend to overlook what makes the LP special: its variety.
We took a deep dive into Dilla’s first and most diverse solo album with the help of key collaborator @KarriemRiggins and ‘Dilla Time’ author, @DanCharnas.

Detroit will officially recognize February 7 as Dilla Day in honor of J Dilla’s legacy. 👏🏽💐
Ahead of the late producer’s birthday, the family of J Dilla shared words of gratitude with the Detroit city council about the official day of honor.
In October, it was announced that five Detroit natives—including J Dilla—would be honored with street names in their hometown after a recent vote by the Detroit City Council. His honorary street sign is set to be located at the intersection of Nevada and Charest Streets near his family’s home, where he recorded in a basement studio.
My latest for @discogs. In American music, countless lines cross back to the late Quincy Jones (1933-2024). From his early years as a savvy jazz journeyman to becoming one of hip-hop's most respected ambassadors, Jones' impact and artistry endures.

RIP to Detroit music legend Tom Gelardi.
I got to know him back in the day and he had so many amazing stories.
From being the guy who “turned down The Beatles” in America to working with artists as diverse as Heart, Bob Seger and House of Krazees.

Copped some Detroit classics from Harry Bunner formerly of @RecordTimeDET, including his copy of Eminem’s Soul Intent that Marshall personally handed to Harry when he dropped off the tapes to sell on consignment back in 1995!
