ReCREATE aims to enhance health and disability outcomes for stroke survivors through the development and evaluation of strategies to reduce sedentary behaviour
ADAPT update...
Our brains are full and lit with ideas following our 2nd workshop with staff from stroke services in Bradford and Leeds ๐ง โจ๏ธ. Such valuable feedback on our 'types' and factors that influence our types in relation to #reducingsedentarybehaviour post stroke
We want to extend our reach to more people so please follow our ADAPT Facebook page! Link below.
Thanks to the team and the stroke survivors, carers and staff involved in ADAPT- you make this work possible!

Huge thank you to all the stroke survivors and carers who attend our 2nd ADAPT workshop last week. It was brilliant! Keep following for more updates on this work #sedentarybehaviour#strokeresearch#standingandmoving
A 'quality' afternoon for our 2nd ADAPT study workshop!
So much energy in the room, amazing contributions and lots of laughter! What a feeling working with such inspiring people to improve how we support standing and moving after stroke. THANK YOU ALL ๐ #sedentarybehaviour
Our ADAPT workshops are underway. We had a brilliant one with stroke survivors and carers in Nov and an excellent workshop via teams with staff from NHS stroke services in Dec. So many amazing insights. Huge thanks to all involved. We look forward to more workshops in 2025!
Warm wishes for the new year from the RECREATE team! ๐
We would like to introduce our #NIHR funded study called ADAPT that continues from RECREATE.. this got underway in autumn 2024 and will be running until August 2025. It is being led by @Drjessjohansson@AUASResearch
For more info about the study, see our website: The ADAPT study: Using an โideal-typeโ approach to tailor an intervention focused on reducing sedentary behaviour after stroke โ Academic unit for Ageing & Stroke Rehabilitation (https://t.co/xH1bn7IbiJ).
๐ข Retro anyone?
As we enter April and the spring we know there's a certain something that should be in every aspiring stroke researchers diary! Its only #UKSF24 ABSTRACT TIME! โ๏ธ

Are you planning or undertaking a trial in stroke rehabilitation or life after stroke?
Would you like to help shape and grow a collaborative network to support researchers who want to conduct well-designed trials? If so, see below and get in touch โฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธโฌ๏ธ@amanda_horler
Members of the stroke team had a fantastic experience at #UKSF23 this week. It was great to hear about the latest stroke research and network with others wanting to improve stroke care.

Our very own @JenAirlie and @Drjessjohansson doing a great job manning our poster detailing our reflections on conducting a large, pragmatic multicentre RCT in NHS stroke services at #UKSF23@AUASResearch@ComplexCTRU
#UKSF23 day 2 - what a morning! Packed! Sessions on high quality research, hearing from those with lived experience and finally a lively discussion around the new guidelines
My take-homes from #UKSF23 day 1:
โก๏ธ We need to tailor care and therapy to the needs of individual #stroke survivors
โก๏ธ We can improve our research using participatory methods and seeking out diverse lived experiences
Looking forward to a packed programme tomorrow!
We are counting down to #UKSF23. The @recreate_stroke team are looking forward to seeing everyone there and presenting their reflections on conducting a large, pragmatic multicentre stroke rehabilitation cluster RCT in NHS stroke services! @UKStrokeForum@ComplexCTRU
