My sister will go to college sometime July 2023, and this will mark an end of <one> rat race she has been living into, and will have freedom to do things beyond books and coaching.
This is a running thread of what all she should pick up (also, adulting thread for her) :
For middle class background early 20s people: If you are waking up and not doing things to seek alpha in whatever you are doing : go back home and ask why are you not doing so?
Early in career (for non dev roles) : itโs super important to have right influence on you : coz they will direct the path you take.
Donโt know much about Dev roles
The more time I spend in the industry more I realise that reputation with 2-3 key people in industry >>>>> industry wide (shallow) network
If you are getting hired from a job listing portal or JD mentioned on career page, you are already late my friend
Ps : only true for people who are chasing early stage positions in a product / team / org
After acquiring basics skillsets (~5years into the industry) : you realise that lot of people give gyan about tactical stuff, where as most of hidden asymmetries are in the strategic stuff
