@_j0rdannn__@pinketine No one is mad that you call racist Argentinians racist. What we take offense with is generalizing a whole country and treating us all as racist because of some Twitter users.
It's like if we said that all black Americans support fascism because 5 or so black people do
@AHamza87348@GritoniNba@Bonmatimessi That's the whole point. You can't generalize a whole country from the actions of a few dozen football fans, and you can't generalize a country from the actions of a few dozen nazis
And there it is!!!! Argentinas right wing government is weaponizing what happened on social media to implement deeply anti immigrant and xenophobic policy. He has cover! And some of my kinfolk are idiotically excited about this.
The Argentine elites won’t suffer. Migrants will
@bloodedgutz@nomelia_2@danidanidan__@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed I don't see where I generalized, and im sorry if I did. I do have respect for the Americans that don't support the evil their country commits, at home and abroad
It would be helpful for me if you pointed out when I generalized so I can be more careful from now on
@bloodedgutz@nomelia_2@danidanidan__@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed I disavow, again, the racist actions of the Argentina fans. What I'm trying to say is that you are right to feel angry at them, and you should, but treating a whole country as racist because of the actions of a few rich white racist is not fair at all
@bloodedgutz@danidanidan__@nomelia_2@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed First, I wasnt the one who brought it up
Second, the difference is that Americans, as far as I know, are not collectively blamed for Trump as we are being blamed for Milei. I know that many Americans oppose Trump, but people act as if we all loved Milei unconditionally
@bloodedgutz@danidanidan__@nomelia_2@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed You do not have 2 cookies, you have the crumbs of the cookies of that someone else ate. There are boxes of cookies that are completely good to eat. Are you going to dismiss them because of some bad crumbs?
@bloodedgutz@danidanidan__@nomelia_2@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed No, we do not expect you to like him, but it's the same as us having Milei. Even if we dont like him he is our head of state. No one is making you responsible for Trump, but it's not fair to make us responsible for Milei either
@bloodedgutz@danidanidan__@nomelia_2@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed I have already accepted that many Argentinians are racist. I live in Argentina, I know it for a fact. I just dont think the entire country should be stereotyped because of the actions of a few privileged football fans (99% of Argentinians cannot afford to go watch the world cup)
@bloodedgutz@danidanidan__@nomelia_2@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed I don't see how it doesnt involve me. I believe it involves me because I'm from Argentina and I'm being stereotyped as a racist, which is not something that is very nice. I'm open to being corrected though
@bloodedgutz@danidanidan__@nomelia_2@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed Speaking for myself, I'm not trying to win any oppression olympics. Both black people and latin american people are oppressed, and that is bad, and it should be combatted. I just don't like that I'm the butt of a joke because of something I didnt do
@bloodedgutz@nomelia_2@FBAGoddess444@tariqnasheed I might be too woke, but i think it's bad to generalize a whole population due to the actions of some rich footbsll fans, because it brings bad consequences to people who are not guilty of it
