I'm sorry to bore everyone with this again but absolutely yes to this and the quoted tweet.
I've said it for years: end-to-end games are either manufactured (Bielsa vs Guardiola) or they're incidental due to a lack of coaching (Amorim, often). It immediately prevents technically gifted, smaller or slower players from being on the pitch (why Mainoo didn't play much before Carrick).
As a result, you end up having to feed into that way of playing by necessity (as the pitch becomes large and so you need to prioritise physically gifted players first) which leads to top quality players either not playing/not playing well (due to that style), and then many average players getting a lot of game time because they're physically dominant. You don't win titles like that.
We need to make the pitch smaller, move as a team, close spaces down, be better tactically, and then allow our most technical players to excel in possession. This is how you slowly but surely morph a physically dominant end-to-end top half team into a compact, technically gifted title-challenging one.
@MartienBall Buddy, stop acting like we got money. We are incomparable to the leading forces in football for a while now and low cashflow from the lack of success is alao hurting us. We are forced to nitpick and save. Stop spreading your limited views.
Messi isn’t marking anybody, he’s just walking around the pitch.
0 goals, 0 assists, 0 dribbles.
At 39 he’s old, he should ask the coach to sub him if he’s tired but he wants all the glory cos he’s selfish.
Messi fans does this narrative sound familiar?🫢
🚨🔵🔴 BREAKING: Barcelona submit official bid to Borussia Dortmund for Karim Adeyemi.
Negotiations ongoing with BVB as @gerardromero reported.
Adeyemi wants Barcelona as ONLY club to join this summer. 🫱🏻🫲🏼
Barça made their bid and want Adeyemi now, waiting on BVB decision.
I love football. I love late drama. I love comebacks. I love knowing that anything is possible and feeling like we’re watching a steady stream of some of the greatest games ever. I do not love how we are expected to ignore the inconsistencies in officiating and the interventions from VAR, which have largely been heavily weighted towards certain teams and its players. If you’ve watched and followed everything in this World Cup and are still subscribed the idea that it’s all fair, delusionville must be a lovely place to reside.
